Maire Dodd: Never Alone

i am known to grumble a bit about our highly technological world...

einstein saw the potential trouble decades ago:

‘it has become appallingly obvious that our technology

has exceeded our humanity.’

but as much as i grumble, i give thanks...

 i find my bliss in working at this bench... with metal, fibers, resin, fire... the majority of the time it is a solitary venture... in fact, it would be quite easy to be a recluse...

the community that i have found myself involved in has enriched my life beyond any description... in ways i never would have imagined... i count myself fortunate to have friends now in germany, malaysia, australia, scandinavia and other countries... people i never ever would have met otherwise... opportunities abound with only a click of the ‘send’ button...

so while one may work alone, they needn’t ever feel lonely...

how lucky are we?
