Nellie Wortman: Light, In The Midst Of Darkness

Today, I am grateful for being an optimist.

"The Path"
Nellie Wortman

For it has allowed me, to always see the good and positive in everything.

(the glass 1/2 full, instead of 1/2 empty).

Despite life's many challenges, trials and disappointments that have filtered through my life, I have always believed that with a positive outlook, we are able to see what could and will be, making the journey that much more rewarding.

Life will always have it's challenges and disappointments, but it is up to each of us, in how we choose to go forth in them.

Chosing to be an optimist, allows one to see light, in the mist of darkness.

I am so not an optimistic, and I always thing about the worst happening even when I try hard not to! So I am challenging myself to follow your blog to help me think more gratefully and optimistically. :-)

Thank You for starting this interesting blog!
To be grateful is one of the most important things in life .........nice with the reminder :)
Today I think about my dear father - Åke - that should have been 97 this day ! if still with us in body...(now in spirit) I am very grateful to have had him in my life for a long time as a good man and father doing a lot for his family...

Oh, I do so love the idea of this blog! Definitely starting a day with a grateful heart is better than with a crabby attitude!

What is most telling about this piece of writing is the word "choose." For our lot in life is determined quite a bit by the way we choose... to be happy rather than sad, to be grateful rather than hateful, to be other focused rather than me-me-me. All these little everyday choices add up to one big CHOICE... to choose to be happy and to make a difference in the world, small as it may be.

I love this new space! Consider me hooked!
Enjoy the day!

I too choose optimism and am married to a natural born pessimist. We balance each other beautifully and I'm grateful for that. So grateful!

Beautifully written. It's how I try to live my life. "When life gives you lemons you make lemonade." And I have made lots of lemonade!

Oh what a great reminder! I try to focus on the positive as well, no sense sweating the small stuff... which is so easy to do. I enjoyed your post today - such a powerful message.

So very nice to read Nellie. I can share that sentiment. I used to be called Rosy for "rose colored glasses" I guess. But we do have a choice, and I like to think we can make a difference with our attitudes. Great job. Riki

It certainly is essential to stay focused on the positives in life. At times, I must admit, I do need an attitude adjustment as I stumble off the path. But when I refocus on the light and truly believe that my own good is being taken care of, my balance and attitude is regained. Thank you for the reminder.
